(via Feira // Les Lieux-valises/ | Ève Cadieux)
“Ève Cadieux has decided to pair this series of photographs [DENS] with another one bearing the title Feira, which means fair or market. These pictures have been taken at object level, spread out on canvas sheets on the ground at a flea market. The legs of passers-by can be seen, cut off from their owner. This world is a world of objects, but of objects alone, subjected to a degree of abandonment, waiting for the person who will adopt them because they find in them an ersatz of history, the murmur of fiction, a familiar ode that awakens something in them. With these images of methodical one-upmanship, of inventorying and of objects in quantity, it would appear that Ève Cadieux has chosen to yield to a celebration of the object such as it reveals itself to whoever is in search of history and meaning.”
