Image - a model (presumably Frida Gustavsson? I don’t know models) wearing a massive pink bouffant and thick winged eyeliner with fake moles and triangle reflective earrings.

Frida Gustavsson at Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture.

I just want long hair so I can do this. WAHHH.

i debated about posting images from this runway show on tumblr, because i was going to write a (real) blog post about how i think it’s kind of wierd (half hommage, half mocking?) for the capital F fashion world to post-humously deem amy winehouse a style icon… but i already complained about that in the comments on meg’s latest awesome post:

was definitely curious about the amy winehouse inspired gaulthier collection when i saw it popping up namely on tumblr. yes, i love the bouffant pink beehive, but i miss some of the real grit and messiness. it looks just a bit too glossy for me. the fact that people were so openly mocking her “ugly ballet flats” and “bad tattoos” when she was alive (and even in the days after she died) i was at first uncomfortable with the idea that her style would be fodder for the capital F Fashion industry… i’m still not sure how i feel about it, (but i suppose there is no one more appropriate than gaulthier to take that on, though).
