LaCuna is a stop motion animation that was shot using a Model 11 Photobooth at A&A Studios in Chicago. It’s run time is 4:31, presently only the trailer is viewable online.
LaCuna explores the manifestation and development of concrete and abstract concepts. Shot in a vintage photobooth, the booth serves as a surrogate womb where Fitzgerald interprets birth, malady, growth and wonder. Comprised of over one thousand photobooth pictures, Fitzgerald pushes this tool of vernacular photography into an unexplored realm of animation.
