Anarchist People of Colour (APOC) NEEDS YOUR HELP!! PLEASE REBLOG
Hey Folks! Lovely Anarchist People of Colour in New York and Montréal need your help! We organized a trip down to New Orleans for the Anarchist People of Colour convergence in July. In order to make this trip accessible to all People of Colour regardless of their means and income, the organizers only asked people to chip in what they could. However, because many of us are poor and working class POC who don’t have a lot of money to spare, we ended falling around $800 short. We are now raising funds through various means to pay back the two people who used their credit cards up front.
Going to this convergence was really important to us, as it is really rare for us to be able to come together as APOC and build community and networks. We had an amazing time attending workshops, going to panels, hanging out, learning, and strategizing about building a better future for all POC. As POC community organizers and activists who are constantly working and struggling to survive in this white supremacist capitalist patriarchy, these opportunities aren’t frequent, but are important for our health, growth, and healing. If folks can chip in what they can, it would be greatly appreciated.
Folks in Montreal are also planning on selling posters and we’ll keep you posted about future fundraising parties in New York and Montreal. So, keep an eye out!
